Event: Inaugural Sport for Development Coalition CEO Forum

OVERVIEW

The inaugural Sport for Development Coalition CEO Forum will bring together chief executives, leaders, and key partners from across the organisations and networks that make up the Coalition. The Forum will provide an opportunity for sector leaders to review and set priorities for their collective action to enable sport for development to realise its potential in a post-Covid context.

The 2021 Forum will focus on analysing the Government’s Levelling Up agenda and cross-sector priorities to ‘build back better’ following the pandemic. It will be an opportunity to examine how sport for development can be best positioned to support the core objectives of these central policy priorities, to improve livelihoods and level up opportunities across all parts of the UK. Crucially, the Forum will also examine how the Coalition can work collectively in order to maximise the role of sport for development in tackling inequalities exacerbated by the pandemic and transforming lives and communities through sport and physical activity.

FORUM OBJECTIVES

The specific objectives of the Forum will be to:

  1. Set the priorities for the Coalition’s collective advocacy, with an emphasis on working collaboratively to maximise the contribution of sport for development to building back better, the ‘Levelling Up’ agenda and transforming lives and communities through sport and physical activity;
  2. Plan collective action to help mobilise scaled investment in sport for development; and,
  3. Agree on strategies to harness the potential of open data for the benefit of the sector.
