Comic Relief has invested £80 million in the Sport for Change sector since 2002. Independent research from the University of Bath examines the impact of the charity on the sector and over 500 supported organisations. The organisations are each engaged in using sport to deliver improved social outcomes, in the UK and internationally.
The report from the research reflects strengths and successes of the approach from Comic Relief, while also highlighting areas for future improvement.
Comic Relief has also taken the step to provide focused resources for practitioners and deliverers, and funders based on the findings from University of Bath's research.
Research indicates that Comic Relief is an organisation that understands the challenges of delivery, and is an active and empathetic partner in that field, while also highlighting the sector's continuing challenges around funding, and how organisations can benefit from a more medium-to-long-term view of funding from its partners.
